Terms of Service

The terms that govern access to and use of the KD-ICE emergency coordination platform.

Last updated: June 24, 2026

Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern access to and use of KD-ICE, the Kaduna Disaster and Incident Emergency Coordination System. By using the KD-ICE website, mobile applications, APIs, dashboards, or related services, you agree to these terms.

Using KD-ICE

KD-ICE is intended to support emergency reporting, ambulance requests, responder dispatch, incident verification, community safety coordination, and authorized administrative workflows. You must use KD-ICE lawfully, responsibly, and only for genuine safety, emergency, operational, or community protection purposes.

Accounts and Security

You are responsible for the accuracy of information provided through your account and for keeping your login credentials, PIN, device, and access tokens secure. You must notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access, misuse, impersonation, or compromise of your account.

Emergency Reporting and Dispatch

KD-ICE helps route alerts and coordinate response, but availability, timing, and outcome may depend on network connectivity, location accuracy, responder availability, road conditions, public infrastructure, and other circumstances outside our control. In a life-threatening emergency, you should also call the nearest official emergency number or seek immediate local help when safe to do so.

Responsible Use

You must not submit false reports, staged incidents, misleading locations, abusive content, fraudulent identity information, unlawful material, or anything that could delay or obstruct a genuine emergency response. We may investigate, restrict, suspend, or refer misuse to appropriate authorities.

User Content and Incident Materials

You remain responsible for reports, photos, descriptions, confirmations, comments, and other content you submit. You grant KD-ICE permission to use, store, display, share, analyze, and process that content as needed to operate the service, coordinate response, verify incidents, improve safety workflows, comply with law, and protect users or the public.

Responder and Driver Responsibilities

Responders, ambulance drivers, area heads, and administrators must use KD-ICE only within their authorized roles. They are responsible for keeping status information accurate, handling emergency data confidentially, following applicable professional standards, and complying with dispatch, safety, and legal requirements.

Service Availability

We aim to keep KD-ICE reliable and available, but the service may be interrupted by maintenance, upgrades, technical failures, internet outages, device issues, security events, government restrictions, third-party outages, or emergencies. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service when needed.

Intellectual Property

KD-ICE, including its name, logos, software, designs, workflows, documentation, and platform materials, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell, or exploit the platform except as permitted by law or written authorization.

Third-Party Services

KD-ICE may rely on third-party services for hosting, maps, messaging, notifications, analytics, payments, identity checks, or other platform functions. Those services may be governed by their own terms and policies, and their availability may affect parts of KD-ICE.

Disclaimers and Liability

KD-ICE is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, exact location accuracy, responder availability, or a particular emergency outcome. To the maximum extent permitted by law, KD-ICE will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages arising from use of the service.

Suspension or Termination

We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access where we reasonably believe there has been misuse, security risk, unlawful activity, false reporting, unauthorized access, violation of these terms, or conduct that may harm users, responders, KD-ICE, or the public.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, unless a mandatory law provides otherwise. Disputes will be handled by courts or competent authorities with jurisdiction under applicable law.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms as KD-ICE evolves or as legal, safety, technical, or operational requirements change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised update date.
