How KD-ICE collects, uses, shares, and protects information for emergency reporting and response coordination.

Last updated: June 24, 2026

Privacy Policy

KD-ICE, the Kaduna Disaster and Incident Emergency Coordination System, helps citizens, responders, community leaders, and authorized administrators report incidents and coordinate emergency response. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information when you use the KD-ICE website, mobile applications, APIs, dashboards, and related services.

Information We Collect

We collect information needed to operate an emergency coordination platform, including:

  • Account information such as name, alias, phone number, email address, PIN credentials, profile photo, language preference, and account status.
  • Identity and eligibility information such as NIN verification status, date of birth, gender, responder role, driver status, and administrative permissions.
  • Location information such as state, LGA, ward, area, street, watched areas, live GPS coordinates, pickup points, and responder or ambulance movement data.
  • Emergency and incident information such as SOS alerts, ambulance requests, incident category, descriptions, photos, confirmations, comments, trust signals, dispatch notes, and resolution details.
  • Device and usage information such as IP address, device identifiers, browser type, app version, log data, notification status, and security events.
  • Support and communication information when you contact us, report a problem, request assistance, or respond to an investigation.

How We Use Information

We use information to provide, secure, and improve emergency response services. This includes creating and managing accounts, routing alerts to appropriate responders, verifying reports, dispatching ambulances or other emergency services, tracking active response, sending notifications, preventing misuse, investigating false or harmful reports, improving coverage, generating operational analytics, and complying with legal or public safety obligations.

Location and Emergency Data

Location data is central to KD-ICE. When you submit an SOS alert, ambulance request, incident report, or responder update, we may collect precise location data so the nearest appropriate responder can assess and respond to the situation. During an active emergency, this data may be visible to authorized dispatchers, responders, administrators, and other parties who need it to coordinate care or protect public safety.

How We Share Information

We share information only when reasonably necessary for the platform, public safety, legal compliance, or service operation. Recipients may include emergency responders, ambulance drivers, hospitals, fire or safety agencies, community verification participants, authorized KD-ICE administrators, infrastructure providers, analytics and notification providers, law enforcement, courts, regulators, or government bodies when legally required or necessary to protect life, safety, rights, or property.

Data Retention

We retain information for as long as needed to provide KD-ICE, maintain emergency records, resolve disputes, meet legal obligations, prevent abuse, improve service reliability, and support public safety audits. Some emergency records may need to be retained longer than ordinary account data because they may relate to safety, accountability, investigations, or regulatory reporting.

Your Choices and Rights

Subject to applicable law and public safety requirements, you may request access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion or restriction of certain data, withdrawal of optional permissions, or more information about how your data is processed. Some requests may be limited where information is needed for emergency response records, legal compliance, fraud prevention, or protection of other users.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect KD-ICE data from unauthorized access, misuse, loss, alteration, and disclosure. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so users should keep login credentials and device access secure and report suspected misuse immediately.

Children and Vulnerable Users

KD-ICE is designed for emergency and public safety use. If a child or vulnerable person needs emergency help, the platform may process the information needed to respond. Where required, parents, guardians, responders, or authorized officials should manage non-emergency account and consent issues.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as KD-ICE evolves or as legal, operational, or security requirements change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised update date.
